"For I know the plans I have for you," declares the Lord, "Plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. Then you will call upon me and come and pray to me, and I will listen to you." Jeremiah 29:11-12

Dear Readers,
Our parting words to you in our book Walking Together Through Illness were about the new challenge Milt and I were facing. His company had said it was time for him to resume the extensive travel that is a part of his job description. I panicked. "How can you fly especially by yourself? We can’t afford for me to fly everywhere with you. What are we going to do?" Milt, on the other hand, was calm. "Wanda, don’t worry. We just have to trust God to see us through." Unfortunately I didn’t heed Milt’s words of faith. I began stewing about how I was going to make this work. A few days later as I was having lunch with my friend, Marlyn, we decided to take matters into our own hands and do some serious planning. And what a grand plan it was. I returned home eager to share this fabulous plan with Milt. Before I got the first word out of my mouth, he said, "I’ve got everything worked out." And he did. I gave thanks to God for his blessings that included a wonderfully functional American Disabilities Act. The airlines, hotels and ground transportation industries all had extensive experience in providing services for people with disabilities. I saw God’s wonderful hand in all of this on the day of Milt’s first trip. I hovered anxiously as the gentleman who was transporting Milt to the airport prepared to load Milt in his power chair into the van. "Are you a Christian?" I asked nervously. Not only was he a Christian, he belonged to the church who was leasing our old church building. "Mrs. Bledsoe, would you like to come on board and pray for Milt?" Well, like the old TV series, "Father Knows Best" our heavenly Father indeed had everything under control. Milt was met with wonderful customer service oriented people all along his journey. How affirming it was for Milt to add another important milestone to his quest for total independence.

Milt and I hope you are enjoying our book, Walking Together Through Illness. Pray for us in our continuing journey as we pray for you in yours.

In His service,
Milt and Wanda Bledsoe
