Milt & Wanda
Whom God has joined together let no man put asunder
Wanda’s journey with the Lord began as a child at Shiloh Baptist Church in Topeka, Kansas where Wanda was born and raised. Wanda’s 91 year old mother, Ruby Scott continues to live in that house and teach an adult Sunday school class at Shiloh. Wanda’s mother is her spiritual inspiration. Wanda shares stories about her mother in one of her most popular inspirational presentations, In My Mother’s House. Wanda learned her caregiver role from her mother who walked together through the illness of Alzheimer’s disease with her father, Clovis Scott. Wanda says she uses her maiden name as her middle name in tribute to her mother and father and the way they raised her to love, honor and serve God.
Wanda met her husband of 40 years, Milton Bledsoe while they were attending college at Kansas University. They married three years later. Wanda would say that they had both grown up in households of faith. It would be important that they were equally yoked and of like minds in their commitment to God as they faced the storms of life in their marriage; the loss of a twin son, raising their children, and managing their careers. Each storm that they weathered brought them closer to God and to each other.
Wanda’s ministry took her into music as a church organist, accompanist and soloist in churches in Kansas, Missouri, Ohio, Seattle and California. It was the request of a friend to write a job search manual that launched Wanda’s ministry into Christian writing and inspirational speaking. Wanda discovered that audiences really responded to the heartfelt stories of faith she shared. She continues to be amazed at the ways God is using her to share His message.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in Him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit. Romans 5:13 NIV
Milt, a bank executive for over 43 years, began his Christian journey as a child at the First Baptist Church in Kansas City, Kansas. He is currently a men’s ministry leader at his church in Temecula, CA. Milt has served in key lay leadership roles in the Presbyterian and Lutheran churches. In Seattle he was moderator of the Seattle Presbytery, and President of the Synod of Alaska-Northwest Corporation and in Southern California he currently serves on the Pacifica Synod Council and is a past president of the congregation of Hope Lutheran Church in Temecula. While living in Seattle, he chaired the Board of Young Life, a Christian youth organization.
When he and his wife, Wanda moved to California, Milton started a unique men’s small group, "The Men’s Monday Night Football Care Group." For the past 14 years these men have met faithfully in Milt’s home, sharing a meal, the fellowship of a game and the word of God. These men have supported each other through the challenges and joys of their lives and they now meet year round. Milt also hosts a smaller Friday morning group at his home.
Milt met Wanda, the girl of his dreams at a fraternity party at the University of Kansas. Three years later they were married. Milt’s mother, Dorothy Spencer Bledsoe was also a caregiver, providing loving care to Milt’s father, Milton Sr. Milt was diagnosed with diabetes some 13 years ago.. Milt shares with readers of Walking Together Through Illness how the excruciating pain he suffered in his feet and legs helped him more effectively minister to men and concentrate on his Christian walk.
Milt and Wanda recently celebrated 40 years of marriage and they have two adult children and five grandchildren.
